Pastor Felker earned a B.A. degree from Criswell College in Dallas, TX in 1978; and a M.A. degree from Criswell Graduate School of the Bible (Summa Cum Laude) in 1982. His major field of study was Greek and New Testament. He also completed a Doctor of Ministry degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Expository Preaching in 2005. After serving as pastor of a church in Cedartown, GA for five years, he became the pastor of Swift Creek Baptist in 1987. The membership grew from 275 to over 690. Upon his retirement from Swift Creek Baptist Church, the church voted to name him Pastor Emeritus. In addition to a volunteer role at SCBC, he serves as interim Pastor of Swift Creek Baptist Church.
