As we look at what is expected of us as part of our devotion as followers of Jesus, scripture instructs us to, "Be wise as serpents, but innocent as doves". Spurgeon stated, "we are to be martyrs, not maniacs; we are to be be simple-hearted, but we are not to be simpletons."
