E. Calvin Beisner, Ph.D., is Founder and National Spokesman of The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation and a former professor of Historical Theology and Social Ethics at Knox Theological Seminary (2000–2008) and of Interdisciplinary Studies on the Application of Biblical Worldview, Theology, and Ethics to Economics, Environmental Stewardship, and Public Policy at Covenant College (1992–2000). He is the author of a dozen books, including“Prosperity and Poverty: The Compassionate Use of Resources in a World of Scarcity” (1988) and “Prospects for Growth: A Biblical View of Population, Resources, and the Future” (1990), and has edited and contributed to numerous others, as well as having published thousands of articles, popular and scholarly. He has testified as an expert witness on the ethics and economics of climate and energy policy before committees of the U.S. Congress and in 2014 received the “Outstanding Spokesman for Faith, Science, and Stewardship Award” from the Heritage Foundation for his work with the Cornwall Alliance.
