Malachi, not only a pastor at FBR but also at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, felt called to preach at the age of 13, just one year after he came to Christ as a direct result of the bus ministry at a small baptist church. He married his high school sweetheard, Rachel, three weeks after graduation, and today, the couple has four children. Malachi has no shame about his two major addictions, marathons and social media, but that's probably because he also uses both as opportunities to share the love of Christ.

Malachi wants Psalm 24:6 to describe his life. It says, "Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, God of Jacob." At the end of a 40-day fast a few years ago, God burnt this verse deep into his soul. It describes the "revival generation," those who will give everything they are to a relentless pursuit of the presence of God through prayer.
