Mike Boarts

Mike has been the associate pastor at Berean Baptist Church in Fayetteville, NC since November 2021. As the associate pastor he assists the Senior Pastor in the combined ministries of the church and academy; preaches and teaches the Word of God, assists in shepherding the congregation, and overseeing the teaching ministries of the church (Acts 20:17-28).

Before coming to Berean, Mike worked for the Baptist State Convention of NC (BSCNC). While with the BSCNC, Mike was on the Strategic Focus Team as the strategy coordinator for the southeastern region of the state. He and his team were tasked with helping pastors and their church families develop personal and relational disciple-making cultures that equipped their members as neighborhood missionaries taking the gospel to their community and across the world with an Acts 1:8 focus.

Mike also pastored Highland Baptist Church in Hope Mills, NC for 10 years and was an associate pastor at Magnolia Baptist Church in Stedman, NC and Temple Baptist Church in Fayetteville, NC for 3 years each.

Mike's undergraduate degree is in Biology Education which lead to him teaching high school science and coaching for 6 years before entering vocational ministry.

Mike received a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS) in 2003. In 2018, he would graduate from SEBTS again, this time with a Doctorate in Ministry with a focus in Disciple-Making.

Mike is married to Dee Dee, a middle school teacher, and they have two grown children and 4 grandsons.
