Pastor James Wooten graduated from Pensacola Theological Seminary, where he earned a Master of Arts in Biblical Exposition and a Masters of Divinity. He was associate pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Pensacola and had taught Bible at Pensacola Christian College and Academy before coming to Westgate Baptist Church. His wife Claudene is an online college speech/drama teacher and stay-at-home mom. The Lord has used her gifts to minister to the church through drama. They are the parents of two daughters. Pastor's desire is to see people have a vibrant personal relationship with God: first through being born again through faith in Christ, and then by learning to walk with God and serve Him. Pastor Wooten came to know Jesus as his personal Savior as a young boy in family devotions. His parents taught on the consequences of sin and the reality of hell. Even as a child James realized he did things that were wrong - he was a sinner and deserved punishment. By faith he asked Jesus to forgive him and save him. Praise God He did! You too can find pardon and forgiveness though Jesus Christ.
