Harold Smith pastored Lee Creek Baptist Church for 14 years before stepping down to serve as a church revitalization missionary. In 2021 Lee Creek sent him out to work with declining churches in eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. He also seeks to encourage and equip preachers by organizing monthly fellowships, providing ministry resources, and hosting the annual Preachers of Grace Conference. Through this ministry the Lord has opened many doors to unite pastorless churches with churchless pastors. In addition to his Backwoods Baptist podcast, he keeps a busy itinerate preaching schedule. He and his wife Missy live outside Van Buren, AR and have two grown children, Katelyn and Coleman.
