Dr. David S. Apple is the Director of Mercy Ministries at Tenth Presbyterian Church, in Phila., Pa. He received his B.A. from Calvin College, M.A.T.S. from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and D. Min. from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He directs ACTS (Active Compassion Through Service) Tenth. ACTS is an outreach of 300 volunteer workers to homeless persons, people with AIDS, at-risk children, single parents, separated and divorced, nursing home residents, and incarcerated persons. He serves as the local Chairman of The Clergy Committee, a national ministry that helps urban ministers to work smarter and more effectively for the glory of God and the benefit of their communities.
