Bob was studying to be a Medical Doctor at the Penn State College of Medicine when the Lord directed him to pastoral studies in 1988. While serving in a Reformed Baptist church, he went to John Wycliffe College initially as a guest lecturer in 1998. The English Reformed Church, which oversees the work of the College, extended a call to him as a full-time lecturer in July 2002. By that time, Bob was already involved in the PCA, which ordained him as a Teaching Elder before he and his family moved to South Africa. In addition to his teaching, he fulfills significant administrative responsibilities in the college. He wrote his doctoral dissertation on John Bunyans Holy War seeking to show that the allegory was written primarily as a Scriptural history of redemption. Bob and his wife Sharon live in the greater Johannesburg area with their five children Leanne, Laura, Joshua, John, and Joseph.
