Peter Rumachik

Pastor Peter Rumachik is one of the best-known pastors in Russia. He has a moving testimony of how God sustained him, his family, and his church through five different imprisonments, which kept him a prisoner for a total of 18 years. Because of his effective leadership in the unregistered (underground) Baptist movement, Pastor Rumachik was singled out for and endured some of the harshest treatment dealt to any Christian during the Soviet government?s war on Christianity. His story is a vibrant testimony of God?s grace to His servants even during a time of fierce oppression. (Before her death, Brother Rumachik?s first wife Luba was a long-time member of the Council of Prisoner?s Relatives, which made the plight of imprisoned Christians known throughout the world.)
