Called to Serve- James ,Judas, Judas Iscariot- Part 7

54

Jesus calls normal, ordinary people to be His true, faithful servants who care for others spiritually and to persevere in the faith. We learn a number of lessons from these men. First, James, the son of Alphaeus, is an ordinary man. The only time he is mentioned is just to list his name as in Matthew 10:3. Second, we learn from Judas (not Iscariot), that he was a man who was concerned for others. We see the only time he speaks is in John 14:21-24. Finally, we learn from Judas Iscariot, that he was a notorious traitor. From these men, believers are called to be content with our ministry whether very influential or quiet like James, to be spiritually concerned for others like Judas (not Iscariot), and to take heed not to deceive ourselves and turn out to be a fake follower like Judas Iscariot.
