The Sovereignty of God
Does it ever feel like the Lord is not doing much? Like he is not hearing our prayers, or when trials and difficulties are taking place, that He is a long way off? In times like these, God's Sovereignty is a great reassurance - that his exact purposes will be fulfilled in both our lives and the lives of His people.
Joseph was one of twelve brothers, who, with their families, would go on to be the twelve tribes of one of the most powerful nations in the Ancient Near East. The story of Joseph is a story of the sovereignty of God acting to bring about the plans that God had for His people at the time. It is full of coincidences and accounts of the Lord bringing about His plans in the face of sin, judgment, blessing and national events. We need to be refreshed in the sovereignty of God in order to be able to trust Him when the going gets tough!
