Old Testament Messianic Prophecies Part 5

29

Gavin says, "Now in … John 1:41, 'Simon … saith …, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ;' & today we are considering Messianic Prophecies that relate to the Messiah's or Christ's genealogy in Matthew 1 and Luke 3." "Now Hebrew genealogies sometimes omit names … . E.g., in many Biblical passages we read of 'the Children of Israel'." But "at the hands of anti-patriarchal sex role perverts, and both racial and religious Babelists, … a number of the so called 'modern versions' have wickedly corrupted the Word of God, so that throughout the Old Testament instead of generally reading 'Children of Israel,' the internationally unreliable New International Version … generally reads 'Israelites,' and in the New Testament, the Greek word … meaning 'sons' or 'children' has been mistranslated by the NIV as 'people' in Luke 1:16. And that mistranslation … is also found in, e.g., the highly unreliable English Standard Version, or the New Revised Standard Version … . And so this … is an example of what II Corinthians 2:17 calls the 'many, which corrupt the word of God'." The "words of Genesis 49:10, 'The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come;' require that the Messiah or 'Shiloh' would 'come' to the land of 'Judah' at some point between 4 B.C. and 70 A.D., & they are strikingly fulfilled in the coming of Jesus Christ, who is the only serious candidate for being the Messiah and who fits inside these time parameters. … What a truly amazing fulfilment this is of Biblical prophecy, and what a clear evidence this is of the Divine Inspiration of Holy Scripture!"
