The Plumbline is Set

After dressing down the hypocritical nation of Israel for their disregard of the evidences of God's displeasure, Amos now addresses the apostasy of their leaders. He reproves the wretched exploiters, receives the sentence of judgment and responds to his persecutors. We see that America is also implicated as the Lord sets His plumbline next to their wall that was built with a plumbline and must recommit ourselves so that we may be clear eyed when His judgment falls.
