87

Question: How Did this Needy Leper Solve His Problem?

  1. He Begged, v.12
"he fell with his face to the ground and begged"
  2. He Believed, v.12
    “Lord...you can make me clean."
  3. He Bowed (he recognized Jesus' sovereign discretion) v.12
    “Lord, if you are willing...."
    cf. Rom.9:15
  4. He Benefited (He Received) v.13
“I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!”
And immediately the leprosy left him"
APPLICATION: When in need, approach Christ with a broken spirit, believing he can help -- trust Him to solve it, or to give grace so you can live well in your circumstances (cf 2Cor.12:9).

Sermon Quotes: "Anything less than hell is more than we deserve; meditate on this sentence and it will fix your complaining."

"When God wants to do an impossible task, He takes an impossible man and breaks him" (Charles Spurgeon).

"The leper came begging because he was broken. A broken and contrite heart God will not despise" (cf. Psalm 51:17)
