The Flight of Jonah

Jonah was a patriot and a prophet. The tension this evoked is much like that which we live with today in America. He refused to go where God sent him and in his efforts to avoid obedience to God's call, he endangered the lives of some seasoned mariners and yet still finds that "God always causes us to triumph", albeit with and through a series of chastisements.
