Theme: A genuine response to the gospel call results in kingdom bearing fruit.
In vv. 4-8, Jesus tells the parable of the soils. He explains in vv. 9-10 the purpose of the parable. Only those in whom the Spirit works are able to hear and truly understand the truth of the gospel. In vv. 11-14, the parable's meaning is explained to His disciples. We need to ask God for ears to hear, and we need to evaluate our hearts. What kind of soil are we?
