Gavin says, "In today's 2 Accession Day sermons, we are considering some astounding Messianic prophecies in Jeremiah 30 & 31, & … in this … sermon … we shall do so with some special … reference, to St. Matthew 2. And there is some linkage in today's 2 sermons with my sermons on what in 2020 was the 4th Day of Christmas … the Innocents' Day, & the following 5th Day of Christmas …, as in Part 4 we shall be considering the prophecy 'spoken by' Jeremiah or 'Jeremy the prophet' (Matt. 2:17) in connection with Herod's slaying the children remembered in the Calendar of the Anglican 1662 Book of Common Prayer as Holy Innocents' Day … . And the chronological dates I shall use are those of The PRECISE Chronology I give in my book, Creation, Not Macroevolution – Mind the Gap … . Contrary to the claims of certain religious liberals, we religiously conservative Protestant Christians recognize that Biblical prophecies are predictive … . In the previous sermon, we considered the Jeremiah 31 'new covenant' found in the Christian new testament or covenant. But after the prophet, Holy Jeremy, speaks in Jeremiah 31:10-12 of the Jeremiah 31:31's 'new covenant' redemption by Christ, & how in Jeremiah 31:13, God says, 'I will turn their mourning into joy, & comfort them, & make them rejoice from their sorrow;' & in verse 14, 'my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the Lord;' we then come to a very jarring verse indeed, for having first spoken in verse 13 of God's 'comfort' & 'joy,' we then read in Jeremiah 31:15, 'Thus saith the Lord; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping, Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted … because they were not'."
