INTRODUCTION: Much of the Christian life is about us learning: "Instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man and he will add to his learning." Prov.9:9

FACTS:
1)There are probably about 60-70,000 people on the waiting list for a new kidney.

2)In 2004 almost 4,000 people died, while waiting for a kidney transplant.

3)I was on a 7yr waiting list but was fortunate to have about 10 people volunteer to give me their kidney.

LESSONS I AM LEARNING from my transplant:
1)I Am in Daily Need of Christ, Col.1:17; Jn.15:5

2)God Remains Ever Deserving; I Remain Ever Undeserving, ICor.4:7; Eph.2:8

3)Sometimes He Leads Where We May Not Want to Go, Jn.21:18; Lk.22:42

4)I’m Learning that It’s Alright to Be Indebted, Jas.1:17; Jn.13:35; Jn.3:16. ("I am indebted to my kidney donor and to a whole lot of people throughout my lifetime."

CONCLUSION: Believers in Christ: We now
owe a debt that we can never repay. At the expense of Christ's very own life he gives us life everlasting.

In response, how can we repay Him for his incredible gift?
Ans: We can't. But we can show Him our appreciation thru thanksgiving and service.

Since Christ freely gave his life for us let us go forth with a thankful heart and a servant's hands,
to daily show our appreciation for His undeserved gift.

G.K. Chesterton: “It is the highest and holiest of mysteries that the person who really knows he cannot pay his debt will be forever paying it.” Amen.
