Simeon knew about the Messiah coming and he knew what He would do and he knew how people would react. But in disclosing all this before Joseph and Mary, there was great comfort sown to their hearts, because heretofore they've been walking mostly by faith. And it was in their faithfulness that they found this greater light to successfully bring up the Lord Jesus.
