The Full Assurance of Faith

Embed
23

Here we find an often misunderstood and misrepresented passage that can be best understood by seeing that the writer chastens his readers in chapter 5 and then goes on to console them here. The "it is impossible" verbiage must not be taken in a way that unsettles the child of God, for the Lord would have us "go on to perfection" from the "foundation" principles and to own "full assurance of hope". To find here a stumbling block to that end is counter to the context and the intent.
