Basil Manly, Greatest Preacher & So. Baptist Founder
This is a great exposition with lively testimony from historic Southern Baptists regarding Basil Manly who might be the greatest Baptist preacher in American history, while today his name is obscured. His influence in America among baptists was greater than Spurgeon's in England. The message is powerful and inspiring...until the very end (so disappointing!) when Mr. Smith goes totally PC and feels compelled to condemn his "remaining sin" (misapplied and misdefined per Rom. 7) of defending slavery (which the Bible plainly does!), under the typical labels of "man-stealing" and "property", without proof and with no mention that O.T. law established slavery, with both Israelis and foreigners from either indebtedness, purchase or war, and as if the NT instructions of it are no longer valid. So listen to the first 75%, but ignore the last PC caveat which teaches the root of "social justice" as doctrine, which Paul never taught.

      Powerful, Courageous, Relevant Sermon!
This is a powerful, thoughtfully crafted and clear sermon about the real Jesus revealed in Scripture, by the eyewitness and apostle and "the disciple whom Jesus loved"--John, contrasted to the false Jesus of Thomas Jefferson (whom he exposes fully), Mormons, Muslims & JWs and modern liberalism. Also a complete contrast to a plastic misrepresentation and fake baby Jesus in a manger scene of superficial modern Christianity! Modern thoughts are low and blasphemous by contrast, his holy name taken in vain frequently without shame! After reading through the gospel of John this month this was personally timely and perfect.

      Great encouragement.
Very good explanation of the deliverance of this creation from its curse. God will make a glorious new creation. Good application of the text. I am glad this preacher believes Isaiah 11:6-9 must be taken literally. But I think New Jerusalem as well must be taken literally, not just as a symbol of God’s redeemed church.

      Great Sermon!
Relistening to some fav sermons from one of my fav preachers. This one is way high on my list of top messages. Bro. Kurt has been very instrumental and helpful over the last few years on my journey as the Lord has lead me into the knowledge of the reformed faith, the doctrines of grace, the full sovereignty and prerogative of the Majesty on High, God's ways and attributes, and deeper knowledge of who and what I am in reality. Much gratitude, Bro. Kurt

      Powerful Preaching
I discovered Pastor Smith today since Chris and I upload all the sermons for www.wilderness.com and I was listening while delivering the mail. The powerful oratory of this sermon caught my attention immediately, and then the substance. By the end of the sermon I had to get Chris on the phone and thank him for adding Pastor Smith's sermons to our line up. Then I got home and had to share this with the wife as I always do when a sermon really arrests me. Now I want to hear the next few sermons as well. I am a debtor to any pastor whose sermons unzip my heart, arrest my conscience, and drive me to the blood of Christ for fresh mercy.

      Great Sermon!
This is truly fabulous. Having learned this as the "our Father" in a rote method a a little Catholic kid and rattled it off hundreds of times mindlessly as an assigned penance or in the rosary, this is so rich to my soul as you've presented it. Repenting. Looking forward to the remainder of it. Thank you and bless you.
