I haven't heard anything like this. You really broke down the story of Jonah and made me see things I have never seen while reading it. Lots of little nuggets in the storyline. Thanks for the time and effort and for really caring that we get it! Great teaching! God bless you and your family.

Great sermon but hard to hear.

I don't know how or why I picked this sermon to listen to today, but after listening to it, I realized the Holy Spirit picked this for me. I am going through a spiritual awakening in my life similar to Jonah in many ways. While I have had my share of tribulations, I realize that God doesn't promise us smooth sailing, but He does promise us a safe landing. This sermon spoke to my heart and soul and blessed me in many ways today. Pastor Bonadies is an excellent pastor. I kept getting Holy"spiritbumps" throughout the entire sermon. If I ever go to Connecticut, I promised the Lord I will to stop by his church. God bless!

The book of Jonah is a sign of, or the proof of, the pursuit God goes through to shower us with His grace. He hounded Jonah so He could bless him abundantly.

Hi Kenny,Thanks for listening to the sermons. You ask a great question. The reason that I think it is possible that Peter questioned if he might be the betrayer was because of the level of confusion that all of the disciples felt at this point, and the way the biblical authors weave together the betrayal of Judas and the denial of Peter (esp. Luke). Did Peter really understand what was happening when Judas betrayed Jesus? Was there enough confusion for Peter, if not for a moment, to think that he might be the one that Jesus said would betray him? Jesus had already announced his death and resurrection to the disciples very clearly (for the third time in Luke 18:31-33), yet they were in such a state of confusion that they did not have the wherewithal to remember it when Jesus died. Things may have been moving so quickly and with such intensity that Peter conflated his denial with the dreaded prophecy of betrayal. Bear in mind that Peter’s denial comes only hours after Jesus’ words about the betrayal. Again, I do not want to read too much into this so I would not put too much stock in it. But I think that is possible that Peter at least questioned if he was the one that Jesus had spoke about at the Supper.Thanks,Chuck

While listening to Chucks message he says that Jesus states that one of you will betray me and then goes on to refrence it to Peter betraying Christ and states that Peter would not have known about Judas. I know Peter was present when Judas betrayed Christ cause he was close enough to cut off the ear of one of the men present. How is this statement that Peter would not have known ... arrived at?By the way love all Chucks sermons listened to many of them 4-5 times. He is an incredible wealth of knowledge
