Newbuildings Independent Methodist Church is situated on the Duncastle Road in the village of Newbuildings some 2 miles from Derry in Northern Ireland. It was officially opened in 1985 under the ministry of Pastor Robert Maxwell. Pastor Maxwell began his evangelistic work in January 1979. He continued to minister to the congregation until 1988 when he accepted a call from Dungannon Independent Methodist Church. Pastor Eric Moore was then installed in Newbuildings. His ministry spanned 15 years until, in 2003, he was invited to take up the pastorate in Bangor Independent Methodist Church. There followed a period of vacancy until 2008 when Jonathan Campbell left Ballysillan Independent Methodist Church to become the congregation's third minister.
