- NonaGreat Sermon! My previous comment was not inferring that Michael Barrett was stereotyping ethnic Jews, but Asher Norman, the author in discussion.Asher is stereotyping.I gets worse with cogs in my declining cognition.
- NonaGreat Sermon! This is stereotyping to say that "Jews don't believe in Jesus." He cannot do this for the ethnic, natural, Jew nor the spiritual Jew.He could just as easily say, '... Italians don't believe in Jesus."God has circumcised the hearts of people of every ethnicity. He has made one new man of every people and of every kindred and tongue. His assumption is based on total ignorance.
- JimmyEnjoyableI really enjoyed this talk. A lovely tribute to the KJV.
- George HicksGreat Sermon!I really enjoy your teachings. I miss your fellowship and hands on sharing of learning from the AV. I pray that the Lord continues to prosper you in all that you do. Your Biblical Hermeneutics is spot on and is a blessing to God's people. I am enjoying the Reformation Heritage Study Bible and will give a proper review shortly.
- By God's GraceFaith in the Son required to please GodHow can they say a righteous, perfect God can be approached based on a sinning, imperfect man doing his best to obey the law? Their god is weak and pacified easily!
- By God's GraceJesus Christ the lens of all ScriptureUnbelief a matter of the heart- thank you Dr Barret for emphasizing that again. Faith has to be a part in understanding Old Testament, because all of OT points to Christ's coming in the fullness of time.
- By God's GraceJudaism man-madePeople quickly connect Judaism with Old Testament which is wrong. When you think of it as oral tradition written down after the Scriptures then it becomes man's religion made up by rabbis-who refute Jesus like Jews in Jesus' time did-thinking they know truth better than inspired Scriptures teach and Jesus taught.
- By God's GraceGreat Sermon!Am thankful Dr Barrett hit the "heart of the matter" first off in the series- (hearts that are stone and eyes that are blind) as I seek to understand why loved ones turned away from the living Christ to this religion of tradition and works.
- LianmungGreat Sermon!it was such a blessing for me
- LisaGreat Sermon!Interesting discussion in 7 minutes
- JosieGreat Sermon!Jesus kept the law. He was sinless and without blame. The rabbis hated him because he didn't keep THEIR law
- Florin MotiuExcellent! What a foolishness, to compare the Incarnation with the semi-gods of paganism! Those were invented by men, but people couldn't invent a notion of God-man as revealed by the NT! People couldn't understand that notion. How can we say he invented it? Very good the OT argumentation of more than one Person in the Godhead!
- Florin MotiuExcellent! It is true that Jesus did not fulfil the Messianic criteria of a Judaism developed along anto-Christian lines, but He fulfilled the OT Messianic criteria.
- Florin MotiuConvincing.Very clear and convincing argumentation.
- Florin MotiuA difficult verse. It is interesting that from the all Bible commentaries I have in my home no one discusses with seriousness (some do not mention the problem) the problem of this verse - Matthew 12:40.
