Salem Reformed Baptist adheres to both Reformed & Baptist theology. Honoring the soundness of the 5 Solas and the proclamation of the Doctrines of Grace (also known as the Five Points of Calvinism). SRB also follows several of the Baptist Distinctives and other historical church traditions.

Gustavo C. de Barros, affectionately known to the flock he shepherds as "Guga," is the Teaching Elder at Salem Reformed Baptist Church.

Pastor Guga was born and raised in Campinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil. As a Brazilian he is a big fan of the true "football" and of a strong cup of coffee.

He traveled to Portland, Oregon in 2002 to study Theology and it was there that he met his wife Rachel and acquired his Bachelor of Theology (BTh). In 2007 Gustavo, Rachel, and Isabella (their oldest daughter) moved to Brazil, where he planted and pastored a church. Then in 2013 he and his family returned to the USA, to Salem, Oregon to pursue further studies and to pastor. He has a Master of Theological Studies (MTS) and a Master of Divinity (MDiv) through Reformed Baptist Seminary.

Gustavo and Rachel have five children.
