Fundamental in Doctrine, believing in the divine authority and verbal inspiration of the Bible, and the great fundamental doctrines of grace it contains. The Scriptures alone are the supreme authority in matters of faith and practice. The Free Presbyterian Church uses only the Authorized Version (KJV) of the Bible.

Separatist in Practice, believing and practicing the doctrine of Biblical separatism. In accordance with this, the Free Presbyterian Church has no association with the modern Ecumenical or Charismatic movements, nor will it fellowship with any church which has departed from the fundamental doctrines of the Word of God.

Born in the rural heartland of County Down Northern Ireland, the Rev Harris has served God in full time pastoral ministry for some 32 years. His ministry began just outside Belfast Northern Ireland, where he served in Carrickfergus Free Presbyterian Church for 12 years. In 1997, after feeling God's call to distant lands, his ministry was moved to East Africa, Kenya, where he laboured in church planting, Bible teaching and pastoral ministry for 8 years. In 2005, the sovereign hand of God brought him to Annalong Free Presbyterian Church, where he currently occupies the pulpit on a full time basis. The Rev Harris is also the present chairman of the Mission Board of the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster.
