Jack Wood was born on December 28, 1928 in Houston, Texas. He grew up in the west end area also known as Cottage Grove. At the age of 23 he was saved and he surrendered to preach one year later. He attended Tennessee Temple University and first pastored at Birdsall Baptist Church in Houston, Texas at the age of 28. His ministry later led him to work with “down and outers.” He pastored Shady Acres Baptist Church of Houston Texas from 1974 until 1995. Brother Jack Wood went home to be with the Lord November 12, 1998.
