The Office of Deacon

Where did the role of Deacon come from and where did it develop? What are the responsibilities of being a Deacon? Continuing in our study of 1 Timothy, we've come to verse 8 where Paul addresses the office and role of the Deacon. For our second-hour service, Pastor Simpson set the foundation from the book of Acts to give us the qualities and characteristics that brought about the need of having deacons to begin with. If we can learn how to properly manage the church from the Scriptures, there's no reason to practice otherwise - simply follow the pattern of the first century church, and all will be well.
