Perseverance as a Work of God

The true Christian will persevere to the end. They will not fall away from Christ, but will continue on in following Him. The reason for this is because God Himself keeps the Christian secure. Salvation is a work of God from beginning to end as we look to Jesus the "author and finisher" of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). It would be incorrect to say that regeneration is God's work while sanctification or perseverance is our work. In truth it is all God's work within us and He deserves all the glory for it. Truly is it said, "salvation is of the Lord."
