Mt. Tabor, The Mount of Transformation_10 Judges 4:1-9 / Luke 9:28-37 One event is in the Old Testament and the other is in the New, even though this mountain is not mentioned by name in the New Testament. Two key events took place on this mount which glorified the Lord. Judges 4:1-9 1. Principle One: Confounding the Mighty.2. Principle Two: Conquering Obstacles and God's Enemies. What is the palm tree like? 1. The palm tree can withstand abuse because its life is on the inside. 2. Palm trees can endure fierce storms. 3. The older a palm tree grows, the sweeter its fruit becomes. 4. The palm tree is evergreen and beautiful in stature. Christians will flourish spiritually when they are filled or controlled by the Holy Spirit and are rooted and grounded in Christ. We will flourish when we allow our trials to develop maturity and a closeness to the Lord. Do you do these things or are you losing to the enemy within you? Are you a palm tree Christian? Luke 9:28-37 1. Principle One: A Change in Countenance and Calling on God. We honor the Lord by our love for people, our kindness toward them, and by the spiritual maturity and growth that has taken place in our lives. Our actions, our behavior, our appearance, and our speech, should bring glory to Him.2. Principle Two: The Call of God brought Glory to Christ. God's call in our own lives is, of course, different from what happened here, but His call to the believer is just as important and relevant. When God calls a Christian to do a certain task, whether it is preaching, singing, working with people, etc., the Lord is glorified in the life of that person who serves the Lord and honors Him.
