Mountains of the Bible. Mountains are mentioned almost 570 times in the Bible. Much of the land where people lived in the Bible was hilly and mountainous. I found 35 places called "mountains." This is not counting places that are called "hills". About one-third of the mountains listed in the Bible had at least one or more major events that occurred on them. In this series Mountains of the Bible. I will use 12 Mountains of the Bible. It was a place where God extended His mercy on mankind after His judgment on the world for its wickedness and unbelief. Thank God it is His mercy that enables us to have a new beginning in our own lives. Ararat is the Plymouth Rock of humanity. It was the landing stage where the Ark of Noah was anchored and our Pilgrim Fathers, Noah's family, embarked into this world because of God's Grace and Mercy.
