Eating & Drinking To The Glory of God
Series An Exposition of Colossians
67
The New Testament gives far more freedom in matters of food and drink than many Christians today are comfortable with. Christians are not only free from the Mosaic dietary restrictions, they are also free to eat and drink as they please. Drinking alcohol is not a sin, but drunkenness is. While we can have personal scruples on such matters, we shouldn't try to legalistically bind others. At times we might refrain for the sake of evangelism, or in an effort to protect a weaker Christian. But our conscience should be informed by God's Word rather than other people's convictions.
