Elijah the tishbite, was a man of great faith and Courage. In Chapter 17 of 1 Kings. God instructed Elijah in a Private Ministry and told Him to go Hide Himself. The prophet retired from public ministry for 3 ½ years. His Public ministry finally come to reality when in Chapter 18 God instructed Elijah to go Show Himself on the Top of Mt. Carmel. King Ahab had been searching for him for 3 ½ years. Elijah had been preparing himself for the message. Obadiah is a type of each Christian that compromises themselves. Elijah was serving the Lord in Public without fear. Obadiah was serving King Ahab and trying to serve God secretly. We have so many Obadiah's that brag about how close they are with God. There are not enough true Christians like Elijah that minister by showing off God. He was a prophet that was Showing off God instead of Himself. He was bringing the nation of Israel (America) back to true worship of God. Your Challenge from Mt Carmel is, 1. REPAIR YOUR PERSONAL ALTAR OF DEVOTION. (Family altar) 2. REMIND YOURSELF OF YOUR UNITY IN THE BODY OF CHRIST. (your never alone)3. CLEANUP YOUR HOUSE AND GET RID OF THE DIRT (Spiritual Life by bible study and devotion).4. GO HOME (To enjoy the shower of blessing). Once the evil in the Kingdom of God was gone. The shower of Blessings returned. What we do with God in PRIVATE is far more important than what we do for God in PUBLIC. Our hidden life prepares us for our PUBLIC. America needs to discipline herself to bring Victory back like Elijah did on Mt. Carmel.
