Scott Lee

Samuel Scott Lee, the first of three children, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Sam Lee of Fort Smith, Arkansas, on May 7, 1963. He came to faith in Christ in the summer of 1981 shortly after graduating from High School. In 1984, while earning a degree in chemistry from Arkansas Tech University, Scott met and married Amy Hughes of Benton, Arkansas. The young couple moved to Fort Worth, Texas immediately after graduation in 1985 so Scott could attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. While in seminary he was Manager of Research for the O.A. Battista Research Institute and, along with Amy, was heavily involved in Beautiful Feet Outreach Mission, working with the homeless of Fort Worth. While in Seminary, he and Amy had the joy of bringing two daughters into the world: Stephanie (1987) and Kimberly (1990).

After graduation, the family moved to Arnold, MO (1991) where Scott pastors Rockport Baptist Church, as well as teaching bible for Missouri Baptist University and making yearly mission trips to Romania with HeartCry Missionary Society. Scott is committed to biblical, expositional preaching that focuses on magnifying the greatness of God's grace in Jesus through careful verse by verse study. For that reason he is also committed to the historic truths of the Protestant Reformation (aka "the doctrines of grace") which he believes are the heart of the biblical Gospel. It is his aim to declare God's truth faithfully and warmly for the edification of the church and the evangelization of the nations.
