Dr. D. James Kennedy

Dr. D. James Kennedy (1930-2007), founder of Truth In Action Ministries, was perhaps the “most listened-to Presbyterian minister in history” because of the outreach of pulpit through television and radio. For 48 years, Dr. Kennedy served as the senior pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Ft. Lauderdale. He founded Evangelism Explosion, International, a ministry that trains lay people how to share their faith, which in 1995 became the first known Christian outreach to be implement its program in every nation on earth. Dr. Kennedy wrote 70 books on faith issues, including the best-selling, Evangelism Explosion, Why I Believe, and What If Jesus Had Never Been Born? (with Jerry Newcombe). His messages continue to be broadcast nationally on the weekly television program Kennedy Classics. D. James Kennedy earned his Ph.D. at New York University in World Religion in 1979, and was also the founder of Westminster Academy and Knox Theological Seminary.
