David A. Smith

Pastor Smith was born into a Baptist preacher’s home in Omaha, Nebraska, on April 1, 1954. In 1960, his family moved to Miles City, Montana, where he lived for fourteen years while his father pastored an independent Baptist Church. As a young man, he received the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Saviour in 1968. During his junior and senior high school years, he was heavily involved in local church ministry that included evangelism, camp ministry and music. In 1971 he surrendered for Christian service while attending Castle Rock Baptist Camp near Bozeman, Montana.

While training for ministry at Calvary Baptist Seminary in Pennsylvania under Dr. E Robert Jordon, David met his wife, Heidi Stitzinger, a native of Doylestown, Pennsylvania. They were married in 1981 and have five children and eleven grandchildren.

Upon graduation from seminary, Pastor Smith founded Berean Baptist church of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and pastored there for three years before accepting the call of God in 1984 to return to Montana. He pastored the First Baptist Church of Laurel, Montana, for sixteen years.

In December of 2000, Pastor Smith returned to Pennsylvania where he currently pastors Community Baptist Church of Coopersburg, PA. One of the key scripture verses of his life is Phil. 1:6, which praises the faithfulness of Christ in making possible confident expectation for every child of God – “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
