William "Billy" Emmett Brunson answered his Lord's call to the ministry as an eighteen year old. He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at a Billy Graham Crusade in 1952. Billy served only 3 churches in his entire ministry of 40 years, the last church he served for 33 years. He has been on the radio in Houston, Texas for 29 years. His radio opening was, "It is my aim to share with you things on this radio program that God shares with me, hopefully things that you will find new and refreshing as we dig a little deeper into God's Word. The heart of Billy was to learn and to explore the marvels of his Lord and Savior. He loved to preach and was faithful to preach the Word of God. His favorite quote was "The Father is Sovereign, He knows what is GOOD, RIGHT and BEST. Billy went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 7, 2005. At the celebration of his life his son explained, "We are not mourning a fallen soldier, we are celebrating the day this Holy Soldier received his reward, a crown in Heaven."
