Knowing The Enemy

Knowing The Enemy

KNOWING our enemies, HOW to battle them, drawing NEAR in humble adoration to the Lord and gleaning joy, wisdom and light FROM Him, is fundamentally important for everyday living for each disciple of Christ.

"Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord; He will lift you up." James 3

God has a way of silencing or "shutting the mouth of our enemies" and He does it when we, as His disciples, PRAISE Him. YES, when we PRAISE Him!!! I love how Psalm 8:2 reveals this specific principle. It says, "Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You (God) have ordained strength, BECAUSE of Your enemies, THAT You [God] may SILENCE the enemy and the avenger."

What's the major threat for Satan when we praise the Lord?

  1. God's presence (Psalm 22:3)

  2. God renders him (the enemy) powerless over us and paralyzes his ability to thwart our work in the kingdom. (Psalm 8).

And Satan is aware of these truths, and he wants to distract us and our praise, so he can render us powerless in our work for the Lord. Why is this so important? Proverbs teaches us that when we forsake God's ways, we automatically give praise to the wicked.(Proverb 28:4). That tells me that faith's obedience is always the platform that sets the stage for our sweet praises and for God to use them for our good and His glory.
