B. Joseph and Mary were searching for Jesus but they did not find Jesus (verse 44)(verse 45)(Song 5.6b)(Song 3.1-4).

II. Surprised by Jesus (verses 46-48)

A. In his ministry Jesus was always surprising people
(1) Nathanael (John 1.45-49).
(2) Nicodemus (John 3.2-3).

B. Even as a boy, Jesus had surprises for his parents (verse 46-48)(Luke 1.46-49).

III. Studying concerning Jesus (verses 49-52)

A. Christ's obedience.

B. Christ's wisdom (Proverbs 8.5-8).

C. Christ's acceptability (Luke 3.22).
