Born Of A Virgin, Really?

The most miraculous thing that has ever happened is found in this passage, Jesus being born of a virgin. Sex should not be outside the marital relationship. Sex is designed by God to be an expression of love between a man and a woman who are married to each other. God’s people know the law, even when people disobey it. God’s people need to know the difference between right and wrong. God sent Jesus to save His people from our sins. The problem we all have, which is the most serious problem we have, is sin. The consequence of sin is the wrath of Holy God. A part of Joseph really wanted to believe Mary and so the Angel of the Lord told him not to be afraid. Often times, when we do what God says, other people will misunderstand and think ill of us. Joseph knew the dream of the angel was to be believed because he knew the scriptures and knew that it was written that "The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son…”. Those who are not saved are spiritually dead and we should not be worried about telling them the truth of God’s word. When someone is spiritually dead, they need to the truth to bring them to life. The Bible is God’s word and it tells us what we need to do to live a life that honors the Lord. The right response to God’s word, is to believe and obey.
