A Warning Against Apostasy

Standing in contrast to the gospel of Jesus Christ is the prophesied apostasy. In later times, the apostasy will take place, and in the time of the apostles as well as today we see apostasy among those who claim the Christian faith. Apostasy is defined in context as turning towards external, works righteousness, rather than the finished work of Jesus Christ. Because of its prevalence, we should know what it is and run far from even the hint of apostasy.
