Worldliness & the Jealousy of God

Worldliness is living like this world is all there is – evidenced by adopting the world’s way of thinking and treasuring the world’s pleasures. We must avoid worldly influence. Worldliness is a betrayal of God – personal (adultery, hatred, being His enemy), and purposeful (a willful act of rebellion). It provokes His jealousy, which involves anger and punishment. But that protects us and shows His love for us. And His grace is greater than our worldliness. We can have that grace and avoid being treated as His enemy when we are humble.
