The Preservation of the People of God

Having spoken of their Eternal Prospect - He now speaks of their Earthly Preservation. One day they will be carried to their final resting place in glory, but this day, they will be kept from falling from grace. That is what Christ addresses here in this part of His petition – Both the Prospect of the People of God, and the Preservation of the People of God. Both doctrines are vital to joyous and victorious Christian living.
