It's Not Your Party

The seemingly innocent planning of verse 13 is sinful because it is rooted in prideful presumption - an attitude that thinks this life is “my party.” The solution to that kind of pride is to admit your ignorance about the future, to admit that your life is a mist, and to plan submissively – seeking to do only God’s will rather than your own. (Enjoy being a part of His party.) Failure to heed this is sin.
