Wisdom for the Weary

667

The continuation of this text from vs.4 is vital, because we can understand the big picture of what God is doing and what we are supposed to do, the “count, know it, and let it”, but we still have a hard time understanding what we are to do in specific circumstances. We have some wisdom, but we need more. That is what this text addresses.

Ask for it (vs.5)

Act on it (vs.6-8)

This isn’t merely intellectual, asking in faith means acting in faith. This is the necessary inference of the text. You don’t ask to borrow the car unless you intend on driving it. Some want to talk it out, but they don’t want to walk it out.

God wants to develop a lasting joy in us, for us to be able to endure and to mature. He wants us to come to Him, often, for the wisdom we need. Believe me, and better yet, believe the text, you need wisdom, and you want maturity, because learning and living in trials is what will make you satisfied in God.
