Jeremiah's Linen Girdle

The lesson of the linen girdle was a message that God gave to Jeremiah. Therefore God told Jeremiah to buy a linen girdle and put it about his waist. He was to go to the Euphrates River and put it in a cleft in a rock and there it would remain until the Lord told him to return to the Euphrates and dig it up. When he returned the girdle, or sash would be spoiled. This would be a message that Israel, Judah was now spoiled, though it had at one time been an honor unto God but now it was ruined like the spoiled linen girdle.
