Adulterous Pastors Restored?

Recently, several prominant pastors have confessed sexual sins and adultery. One in particular (Tullian Tchividjian) was restored to a position (in ministry development) shortly after having been removed from his previous church. How should Christian's respond? Does forgiving the sin demand that the pastor be restored to the his former position? I will consider that subject on the broadcast today.
