Romans 8 - Introduction

The Christian life begins (Romans 8:1), and ends with Christ (Romans 8:39). Between these two points on his journey, there stretches the path of redeeming grace for those "who walk not according to the flesh but according to the spirit" (Romans 8:4). Several things may combine to dishearten the believer and sow the seed of doubt as to whether or not he will arrive at his desired end. Among the discouragements are:
