Jesus Christ: Prophet, Priest and Conqueror

What is the gospel? Briefly, the good news is 'summarized' in Peter's confession, "You are the Christ, the Son of God." As the Christ, he embodies the three offices that we need fulfilled for our salvation. As evangelicals we tend to emphasize His role of priest and prophet but sometimes under-emphasize Jesus' role of King. In today's sermon text, Revelation 6, we see Christ coming as a conqueror, wearing a crown of authority over all of history. Who can stand before this King who is also the Lamb of God?
